Courage will stand by anyone who seeks to change his or her homosexual orientation or behavior, and does recognize that valid changes in sexual orientation do occur. Courage welcomes those who are able to change their SO, as well as those who aren't but who want to live lives of chastity. If you can find a copy, get David Morrison's book Beyond Gay, and all the books by Father John Harvey. You'll learn more from them than you will me. And visit the Courage web site: www.couragerc.net. You can contact the Courage office there.Charles Woodrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12998451233719591265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664000520406826361.post-18361187166191732112008-10-29T16:41:00.000-04:002008-10-29T16:41:00.000-04:00Woodrow, I'm curious. I can appreciate that Courage is not asking a homoesexual to "change," but it seems that many in groups like this are suspicious of those who claim to have changed. I ask because both myself and my husband have come from backgrounds where same-sex attraction was an issue, and for one of us, it was a confirmed choice/lifestyle for awhile. We have been married for quite some time and have children, and truly have a great sex life. But we have been afraid to ever take our stories public in Catholic ministry because we fear that homosexuals, even those within the Courage community, wouldn't believe us. We often talk about how we wish we could tell others how the homosexual feelings (at least for us, not saying everyone is like this) were just manifestations of lonliness and dysfunctional situations. In other words, we both engaged in homosexual behaviors out of convenience and self-pity, etc. And that's not to say we didn't physically and, at times, emotionally enjoy the homosexual relations. But for both of us, we knew it was a lie or a temporary thing until we could actually find what we really longed for in our hearts. I'm seriously interested in your viewpoints. I'm not a troller, I'm a conservative Catholic, I'm not leaving these comments as "bait" for an argument, I'm on your side.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664000520406826361.post-88979883377623141552008-10-28T13:51:00.000-04:002008-10-28T13:51:00.000-04:00Excellent, Woodrow!
